Artisan Drawing Room

A new chapter for artisan

A new chapter for artisan

By In Events, Menus

After four years as a leading restaurant in Newcastle, we have decided to move artisan in a new direction in 2019.

We launched artisan in conjunction with our events suite The Biscuit Room, in part to ensure that the standard of catering for up to 300 guests matched that of our a la carte restaurant. The Biscuit Factory has a team of highly skilled and well-respected chefs. Working across our restaurant, cafe and events service they have ensured unparalleled high standards throughout, bringing their collective experience and passion for local and seasonal produce to our menus.

Carving this culinary niche for ourselves has resulted in an increasing number of event and private dining requests which whilst running a five day a week restaurant we could not accommodate. So we were presented with a quandary; do we move in more of an exclusive hire direction which would minimise our public opening hours or do we turn away from private event hosting?

After much deliberation, it was overwhelmingly clear that meeting the demand for private events was a wise move to make and so as of Saturday 2 February 2019 artisan will only be open to the public on Sundays for lunch, with Monday-Saturday now available for exclusive hire and private dining. This move also allows us to grow our programme of ticketed events, so look out for announcements in the coming weeks of supper clubs, showcase dinners, guest chef pop ups and wine tastings with Corney and Barrow.

We’re excited about the future but we’d like to also take a moment to thank everyone who has been part of artisan’s journey to date. To members of our team old and new – thank you for creating and being part of something we’re all so proud of and to everyone who dines and enjoys what we do – thank you for your support. So whilst we are changing focus this year, we hope to continue welcoming you for your larger celebrations, personal feasts, foodie events and of course for our much loved (as named in the top 25 by The Times) Sunday lunches.
